Questions

Frequently asked

If the answer you need is not here, write to us every message answered within one business day.

Are the weights on this site real?
Yes, and they are ours rather than the supplier’s. Everything is weighed on the same bench scale to ±1 g, in the size we sell most of, as it ships — straps fitted, nothing removed. The date, the instrument and the initials of whoever weighed it are printed on the Field Card in your box. The full protocols are published here. If your scale disagrees with ours by more than the stated tolerance, email us — we will re-measure the run and correct the page.
Why do some products have fewer numbers than others?
Because we only publish what we have measured. A missing figure is a gap in our testing, not a number we are hiding — and if you ask for one we do not have, we will tell you that rather than estimate it.
What is the noise figure and how should I read it?
A gloved hand brushed across the face fabric at 300 mm from a Class 2 sound level meter, A-weighted, with the room’s ambient floor of 22 dB published alongside. It is a comparative measure: it tells you the Wind Shirt 42 is eleven decibels quieter than the Rain Shell 20K. It does not tell you what a deer hears at forty yards, and we do not claim it does.
Do you sell knives, firearms or ammunition?
No, and we will not. No firearms, ammunition, reloading components, magazines, edged tools of any kind, broadheads, thermal or night vision. This is a permanent limit on the catalog rather than a stock problem — it means every order ships anywhere in the US by ordinary ground service with no licence or age check involved. The restrictions page has the complete list.
Is the climbing equipment actually certified?
Yes — saddles, platforms, sticks and the tether set are third-party certified to ASTM F2949 as complete assemblies, with the straps and carabiners they ship with. The certificate number is printed on the Field Card and on a sewn label inside the product. Swapping to aftermarket straps or retying a prusik puts you outside what was certified, which is worth knowing before you do it.
What happens if a saddle or tether takes a fall?
Stop using it. Send it back and we will replace it at half price, no questions and no inspection argument. We would rather absorb half the cost than have equipment that has taken a fall load go back up a tree, and we do not resell it under any circumstances.
How does sizing run?
True to size on layers and shells; the Grid Fleece Hoody is cut close to layer under a shell. Pack torso length matters more than pack size — if you are between the Short and Regular frame, measure from your C7 vertebra to your iliac crest and take the size that matches. Ask us and we will talk it through rather than let you guess.
Can I return something I have used?
Hardware, optics and accessories, yes — you cannot judge a tripod in a living room. Clothing and footwear must come back unworn in the field with tags attached. Sixty days either way, prepaid label, no restocking fee, no reason required. Full refund policy.
How fast do orders ship?
Orders placed before 2:00pm MT on a business day ship the same day. Standard delivery is 3–5 business days at $8.95, free over $99; express is 1–2 business days at $24.95. Every order is tracked and the number is emailed the moment the label is scanned.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Not currently. An international order is cancelled and refunded within one business day, and the authorisation drops off your statement on its own. We also cannot ship to freight forwarders.
Can the power bank and headlamp fly with me?
In carry-on baggage only, never checked — that is every airline’s rule for lithium cells, not ours. The Field Power Bank is 74 Wh, under the 100 Wh carry-on limit, which is why it is that size and not larger.
Is there a subscription or a membership?
No. Every order is a single one-time purchase, charged once, for the amount shown at checkout. There is no subscription, no auto-refill, no membership and no recurring charge of any kind anywhere on this site.
What will the charge look like on my statement?
It will read CALIBRATED SUPPLY, which is not the same as the store name — that is normal, and it is why we print it at checkout and on your confirmation. If you do not recognise a charge, contact us before your bank: support@calibratedsupply.com or +1 (714) 269-7133. We can identify or refund it the same day; a dispute takes weeks.
How is my card handled?
The card fields at checkout are hosted by a PCI DSS Level 1 card vault and are not part of this website, so your card number never reaches our servers. We receive a token, the last four digits, the brand and the expiry. The payment security page explains it properly.
