The full description
A cell camera burns batteries in proportion to how much it has to say, which means the productive cameras die first. A panel fixes that, but only if it keeps producing in the weather you actually have in December.
So both figures are published: 6 W in full sun, 1.1 W in heavy overcast at 44° latitude in December. The 3,000 mAh buffer bridges the nights and the sunless stretches — four days without sun in testing, with the camera still reporting.
The cover is textured to kill the glare. A polished panel flashes sunlight across a field twice a day, which is precisely what you did not want the camera to do.
Bought for
Cell cameras on productive sites you do not want to visit often.
Not for
Cameras with a proprietary power input, and any site under full canopy — 1.1 W assumes open sky.
Field notes
- 01South-facing, tilted to about your latitude, and above the browse line so nothing rubs it.
- 02Check the barrel size against your camera before ordering. Most cell cameras take the common 12 V input; a few do not.
- 03Wipe the face when you swap cards. A dusty panel loses more output than a cloudy day.
