The full description

The Day Bag 1800 carries a morning's kit, a saddle, a platform and two sticks — which is what a whitetail hunter actually walks in with. The back panel takes a ring platform flat against it, and the compression straps take sticks on either side.

The fabric is a brushed polyester chosen on a noise reading rather than on a weight. It is not the lightest 30-litre bag we could have built; it is the quietest one we could build at this weight, and the two numbers are both in the spec table so you can decide which one you were shopping for.

Bought for

Whitetail sits, turkey mornings, and any hunt inside a couple of miles of the truck.

Not for

Packing an animal out. There is no load shelf here — that is the Ridge Frame 5200.

Field notes

01Platform against the back panel, sticks on the compression straps, saddle inside. Weight sits close and quiet.
02The bottom pocket is sized for a rain shell and rain pant, so wet gear never goes in with dry.
03Load the top pocket with what you want in the dark — it opens one-handed with a glove on.

Construction, care and warranty

Construction: Brushed 210D polyester body with a 420D reinforced base; 8 mm EVA back panel; YKK #8 coil zips with cord pulls; removable webbing hipbelt; bar-tacked haul loop rated above the loaded weight of the bag.
Care: Hand wash cold, hang dry. The brushed face flattens in a dryer and gets louder — do not tumble.
Warranty: Repaired or replaced for life against failure in normal hunting use.
