The full description

Household detergent leaves two things in hunting clothing: fragrance and optical brighteners. The fragrance is obvious. The brighteners are the interesting part — they fluoresce under UV, and deer see further into UV than we do, so brightened clothing is measurably brighter to them at dawn and dusk than it is to you.

This is a plain non-ionic surfactant with neither. It also does not carry the softeners and residues that kill a waterproof membrane's breathability — we washed the Rain Shell 20K twenty times in it and re-tested the hydrostatic head with no change.

Washing hunting clothing, base layers and technical shells.

Not for

Anyone expecting it to remove human scent from a hunter. It cleans clothing; it does not make you invisible.

Field notes

01Run an empty hot cycle first if the machine normally sees scented detergent. One load is enough.
02Do not use softener or dryer sheets with it. That undoes the whole thing.
03Wash shells with this too. It is safe on membranes, which regular detergent is not.
