The full description
Most people buy a matched-weight top and bottom, which is backwards. Your upper body is working on the walk in; your legs stop producing heat the moment you sit down in a saddle or a blind. This bottom is knitted at 230 g/m² for exactly that.
Gusseted crotch, flatlock seams, and a flat waistband that does not stack under a pack belt. Ankle cuffs are cut narrow so they stay under a boot rather than bunching at the top of it.
Bought for
Late-season sits, saddle hunting, and any hunt where you stop moving in the cold.
Not for
Warm-weather hunts and hard hiking — 230 g/m² is too much fabric to sweat through on the way in.
Field notes
- 01Cuff goes inside the sock, not over it. Over the sock, it wicks water off wet ground straight up your leg.
- 02For a walk-in of more than a mile, carry these and put them on at the tree.
- 03Wash cold on wool, hang dry. Hot air shrinks these more than the crew because of the knit weight.
