What it is made of
3-layer laminate20K / 20K
Identical to the jacket, so the system wets out at the same rate.
Reinforced seat and knee70D overlay
The two panels that fail first on a pant that gets sat in.
The full description
The single thing that decides whether a rain pant gets worn is whether you can put it on without removing your boots. These open hem to waist on both legs, so you sit down, thread each leg, and zip. Forty-one seconds, seated, timed with boots on.
Same laminate as the Rain Shell 20K, which matters more than it sounds: a jacket and pant with different wet-out rates leave you with a soaked half. Seat and knees carry a 70D overlay because those two panels wear through first on anything that gets sat in.
Bought for
Any hunt where rain is likely and you will be moving between sits.
Not for
Wading. These are rain pants, not waders, and the waist is not sealed.
Field notes
- 01Zips run bottom-up. Start at the hem and the storm flap lies flat by itself.
- 02Carry them in the outside pocket of the pack, not the inside — the point is to reach them without unpacking.
- 03Wash and re-proof at the same time as the jacket so the system stays matched.
