The full description

Wind, not rain, is what makes a hunter cold. A 42 g/m² brushed nylon shell over a grid fleece changes a sit more than another insulation layer would, at a third of the weight and a quarter of the volume.

At 33 dB this is the quietest outer layer in the catalog, which is why it doubles as the fix for the Rain Shell's noise: shell for the rain, wind shirt over the top for the last two hundred yards.

It stuffs into its own chest pocket to about the size of a fist. It lives in a pack pocket all season and weighs less than the water you are carrying.

Rain. It is a wind shirt, the seams are untaped, and it will wet out.

01Over the grid fleece, under the puffy. That is the order it was cut for.
02Hood up in wind even when it is not cold — most heat leaves at the neck.

Construction: 20D brushed nylon, 42 g/m², DWR finish; hooded; single zip chest pocket that the garment stuffs into; elastic cuffs and hem; flatlock seams, untaped.
Care: Machine wash cold, hang dry. Re-proof with a wash-in DWR once a season.
Warranty: Two years against seam or zip failure.
