Certified tether and lineman's rope with prusiks

What it is made of
8 mm certified rope
Sewn terminations, not knotted. A knot you tied is not a certified termination.
Prusik cordsPre-tied
Set and tested at the factory. Retie them and you own the result.
Auto-locking carabiners23 kN
Auto-locking, because a screwgate you forgot to close is the failure mode.
The full description
A saddle without a tether and a lineman's rope is not a system, and the two are sold as a set here for that reason. Both ropes have sewn terminations rather than knots, because a certification covers the assembly that was tested, and a knot you tied at home is not part of it.
Auto-locking aluminium carabiners at 23 kN. Prusiks are pre-tied and tested; if you retie them, you own that decision and the certification no longer describes what you are climbing on.
Bought for
Every saddle and platform hunter, without exception.
Not for
Rock climbing, rescue, or any use outside tree-hunting. This is certified to a hunting standard, not to a climbing one.
Field notes
- 01Lineman's rope goes on at the ground and stays on until the tether is set. There is no moment in between where neither is attached.
- 02Keep the tether above your head on the trunk. A tether at chest height is a fall you swing from.
- 03Inspect the sewn eyes and the prusiks under a light before every hunt. Retire the set after any fall event.
